Barryton Lilac Festival

Voted “One of the top festivals in Mecosta County” !

Nestled in the beautiful countryside sits a little known gem of Barryton. Wrapped by the north and south branches of the Chippewa River, Barryton beckons you to stop in for a visit!

Welcome to the Barryton Lilac Festival! Held annually during the first weekend in June. The festival is named for the numerous Lilac’s planted here many decades ago that come into full bloom at the end of May or beginning of June, depending on the weather.

This is a small town festival that focuses on family-friendly events in an alcohol-free, wholesome atmosphere. This year’s festival will be held to honor some of our amazing residents and business owners. We have many events that are free or inexpensive to participate in.

We have everything from a chicken bbq, car and bike shows, craft show, flea market, kids games, various contests, pony rides, live entertainment and much more! This years special events scheduled include a Horseshoe Pitching Contest, Plant Swap, 5K run, and Bed Race! For a full list of our scheduled events please visit our flyer.

Join us in making this years parade one of the biggest Barryton has ever seen! Grab your friends and build a float, drive your car, bike or ATV; ride a horse or tractor or just walk along in costume. Line-up begins at 10 am at the Barryton Elementary School with the parade beginning at 11 am. For signup info visit our contact page.
